The Old Ship Inn, Worksop

We were asked to safely remove an area of failed external render from a projecting bay window of this Grade 2 listed timber framed building which dates to the early 17th Century.

The heavy cement render had failed because of the combined effects of structural movement, water ingress and the weight pulling it off the bay, which over hung the pavement on a busy main road. We removed the old render and made the bay safe, then after repairs to the timber were made by carpenters, we returned to replace the laths and restore the panel traditionally with three coats of lime render.
