BABY HANDS & FEET TILES
For families, schools and local councils
A precious keepsake

An delightful permanent artwork created by your child's hands and feet.
So tactile and immediate, an heirloom to keep or to give to your family as an extra special gift. The first thing you'll want to do is place your own hand into the impression of these tiny fingers and toes and feel just how small they are.

Baby tiles make an unique Christening gift for Godparents, Grandparents or your baby's first birthday. Please contact me to arrange an appointment for your child - why not get together with friends or organise an afternoon at your playgroup?

SureStart Arts
This baby hand and feet plaque was made by a member of the SureStart
Art group in Nottinghamshire that I worked with as artist in residence in 2004. The group decided that they wanted to make decorative tiles, Erin’s mother made this with Erin and decorated it with brush on glazes.
Babies in Libraries
In December 2006 we worked with over 60 babies, toddlers and their families in libraries  in Derbyshire. It was a challenge but  every family got the right baby feet tile back before Christmas!
Fishy Feet Murals for schools

In 2004, 2005 and 2006 Karen worked with infant and primary schools to create colourful tiled murals using the children’s feet and hands to make tiles which they painted with brush on glazes, to create either ‘fishy feet’ or octopus hands, or colourful flowers.
Each child’s hand or foot print forms a very individual impression, even before they decide how to decorate it.

I created this form of tiled mural after making the baby hands and feet tiles, when I saw how unique every child’s hand or foot print is. It is an ideal method of forming a colourful ‘free-style’ mural that all ages and abilities can contribute to equally.
